Based on the total length of the proposal, decide whether you will have headings/subheadings and what they will be (e.g., Introduction, Background Material, Methodology, and so on).

This would not be needed in the sciences, but your research supervisor will be able to guide you on discipline-specific requirements. Is there something you're trying to prove or disprove?
