Food and Nutrition in our school will equip students with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to cook and apply the principles of food science, nutrition and healthy eating.Our curriculum will encourage students to cook and enable them to make informed decisions about a wide range of further learning opportunities and career pathways as well as develop vital life skills that enable them to feed themselves and others affordably and nutritiously, now and later in life.Judging was completed by the members of the Food Teachers Centre and a list of finalists was drawn up.

This reformed qualification, accredited by Qualification Wales, will replace WJEC's current GCSE Food qualifications; GCSE Hospitality and Catering, GCSE Home Economics: Food and Nutrition and GCSE Design and Technology: Food Technology.

Marks were given for creativity; presentation; skills and adding balance to the plate.

Every member of the Food Teachers Centre had the opportunity to enter one student from any year from their school only, many making it a school challenge to raise funds for a charity event or their own classroom!
