As part of the European Commission-supported ODIN Project, the British Library have now made it possible for researchers and scholars to import their thesis listed in the ETh OS database into their ORCID record using a newly-developed search and link wizard.The tool currently pulls the thesis metadata from ETh OS and pushes it into ORCID, but in the future it will also attach the user's ORCID i D to the ETh OS record.By linking to document identifiers such as the ETh OS persistent identifier assigned by the British Library, the ORCID-ETh OS import tool increases the discoverability and visibility of the early work of researchers and scholars.

Laura is the Director for the Thesis Office at Texas A&M University (TAMU) serving a graduate student population of over 9,000 graduate students.

Laura and her staff are responsible for providing effective guidance to students in the preparation of a thesis/dissertation through conducting pre-submittal conferences for each thesis/dissertation and reviewing final manuscripts to ensure compliance with TAMU thesis/dissertation requirements.

Laura has led efforts state of Texas for the Vireo User’s Group, which facilitates communications regarding the state-wide repository system for Texas Digital Library Consortium.

Additionally Laura was the founder of the Texas ETD Association (TXETDA), which provides a network of support for ETD professionals in the state of Texas.

In our Graduate School Office, you will find a group of professionals who are eager to serve you, and who are experienced with and value the enterprise of graduate education.

We understand the commitment of graduate education and seek to help you successfully facilitate the process, from inquiry to graduation.

In the first phase of its integration, TAMU launched an outreach campaign culminating in the creation ORCID i Ds for its 10,000 graduate students.

Following the May 2014 graduation period, TAMU will be pushing ETD information into ORCID on behalf of its students, creating verifiable links between identifiers for the student, their thesis, and their degree-granting institution.

In addition to enabling more effective management and tracking of our student’s scholarly outputs, the project has the potential to shape the research behavior of our future scholars through awareness building and graduate education.” Pro Quest is another major source for dissertations and theses, having published more than 4 million since 1938 with over 1,700 institutional publishing partners.

Austin Mclean, Pro Quest’s Director of Scholarly Communication and Dissertation Publishing says, “We are actively looking at assigning and integrating ORCID identifiers into Pro Quest Dissertations resources and distribution services.
