The qualification will appeal to learners who wish to either set up their own business, move into employment or progress onto further study.

The Pearson BTEC Level 1/Level 2 Tech Award in Enterprise, is for learners who wish to acquire knowledge and skills through vocational contexts by studying the knowledge, behaviours and skills related to researching, planning, pitching and reviewing an enterprise idea as part of their Key Stage 4 learning.

Students are required to carry out real research and to complete a business report on their findings – Unit 3 is delivered between Year 10 and Year 11 to allow students the time to develop and apply a breadth of knowledge to their research and report.

GCSE Business is assessed by two written examinations and a single controlled assessment.

The course is equivalent to an A*-C GCSE qualification but provides students with a more vocational approach to business rather than a traditional theoretical approach.

The BTEC First Award in business is assessed by three internal assignments and a single online external assessment.
